This summer marks the 40th anniversary of the Honda Accord. In June 1976 the Honda Accord first went on sale in the US. Starting out as a fun and fuel-efficient three-door hatchback, the Accord has transformed the auto industry and is one the most trusted automobiles on the road today. The Accord has been named to Car and Driver magazine’s prestigious “10Best” list 30 times and recently earned 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Over the years, the Accord has also earned numerous awards and accolades. For the past three years, The Honda Accord has been the top retail-selling car in America1 and most popular midsize car with under-35 buyers for five of the past six years2.
