Team Honda’s second annual National Week of Service is set for June 9th through June 18th, and Wilde East Towne Honda will send three volunteer teams into the community to support the cause.
Wilde East Towne Honda Volunteer Events
Our first team of employees will come together on Wednesday, June 14 to clean up Sun Prairie Dream Park. The not-for-profit playground was built in 2007 by volunteers, and receives no government funding.
On Friday, June 16, another group of Wilde East Towne Honda volunteers will serve food at the River Food Pantry, another nonprofit organization. The Pantry’s primary mission is “to bring a message of mercy and hope to those in need,” a mission Wilde East Towne Honda is thrilled to support.
Our final team for the week will head to the Colonial Club Senior Activity Center to participate in the StrawberryFest Run/Walk event. All proceeds from the event go toward providing programs and services for adults over the age of 55.
Our Commitment to the Community
For Wilde East Towne Honda, this week-long event is part of a greater, year-round strive to give back. Our commitment to the community doesn’t stop with putting great vehicles on the road. The Wilde Automotive Group supports numerous non-profit organizations, charities and events that directly benefit those who live and work here.
The Week of Service was introduced by Honda’s Corporate Social Responsibility sector last year as a way to ‘reinforce the Team Honda spirit of working together to make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.’ To build on Honda’s long history of supporting its communities, the Week of Service was built as a way to formally give back with coordinated volunteering.
Within the Week of Service is Honda’s Founder’s Day. June 11, 2017 marks 58 years since Honda’s first business operation in North America.
